Lucid’s 25,000 Bolt robotaxis will run on Nvidia’s self-driving software

Lucid’s European robotaxi deal now has a driver. Bolt announced today that its fleet of at least 25,000 autonomous Lucid vehicles will run Nvidia’s Alpamayo Stack self-driving software, starting with a data-collection program in Madrid in 2027.

That gives Lucid two robotaxi customers on two different autonomy systems: Nuro’s software for Uber’s Gravity robotaxis in the US, and now Nvidia’s for Bolt in Europe.

Lucid (LCID) Q3 deliveries drop 7% as it slashes production by 38%

Lucid (LCID) delivered 3,806 vehicles in the third quarter, down 7% from a year ago. It built only 2,954, a 38% cut from the previous quarter and its lowest production since early 2025.

The automaker says that’s on purpose. New CEO Silvio Napoli is selling down the unsold cars Lucid piled up in the first half of the year, and Q3 is the first quarter of 2026 in which it delivered more vehicles than it built.

The four photos show the sub-$50,000 SUV from the rear and the side. They come two months after Lucid pushed the Cosmos launch back to the second half of 2027.

Lucid Air owners are finally getting the Gravity’s interface. Lucid started pushing Air UX 3.0 today as part of software version 2.11.0, its biggest Air software overhaul in years.

Owners of 2025 and newer Airs get it for free over the air. But if you bought a 2022, 2023, or some 2024 Air, you’ll first need a $950 infotainment processor upgrade at a Lucid service center.

Lucid (LCID) stock halted, crashes 40% on bankruptcy report it denies

Lucid (LCID) stock was hit with multiple volatility halts and crashed more than 40% on Tuesday after a report claimed the EV maker was weighing Chapter 11 bankruptcy or going private.

Lucid quickly denied the report, calling the speculation “completely false” and pointing to its cash position as evidence it can keep operating well into next year.

California’s new $3,500 EV rebate favors Rivian and Lucid over Tesla

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 168 today, creating a new “MyFirstEV” program that gives first-time electric vehicle buyers a $3,500 instant rebate at the dealership starting later this summer.

The point-of-sale discount is backed by $135.5 million in state funding, matched dollar-for-dollar by participating automakers — and a California-headquarters rule makes Rivian and Lucid the biggest winners, while Tesla qualifies only on its cheapest models.

Lucid lays off 18% of staff, its second deep cut in four months

Lucid Motors is laying off 18% of its workforce, roughly 1,500 employees, just four months after the EV maker cut 12% of its staff. The company also confirmed Monday that it has eliminated the second production shift at its Casa Grande, Arizona factory.

It’s the second mass layoff under a new leadership regime that is barely three weeks old, and it lands as the US EV market cools and automakers retreat from their electric plans.

Lucid (LCID) finally adds hands-free driving to the Gravity SUV

Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID) announced it has begun rolling out an over-the-air software update that brings hands-free highway driving to the Gravity SUV in North America.

Lucid first promised hands-free driving for its vehicles well over a year ago, but the feature’s actual rollout has been notoriously slow. The Gravity update arrives at a critical time for the EV startup, which is dealing with shareholder lawsuits, a new CEO, and a stock trading near all-time lows.
