Lucid’s 25,000 Bolt robotaxis will run on Nvidia’s self-driving software

Lucid’s European robotaxi deal now has a driver. Bolt announced today that its fleet of at least 25,000 autonomous Lucid vehicles will run Nvidia’s Alpamayo Stack self-driving software, starting with a data-collection program in Madrid in 2027.

That gives Lucid two robotaxi customers on two different autonomy systems: Nuro’s software for Uber’s Gravity robotaxis in the US, and now Nvidia’s for Bolt in Europe.

Lucid (LCID) Q3 deliveries drop 7% as it slashes production by 38%

Lucid (LCID) delivered 3,806 vehicles in the third quarter, down 7% from a year ago. It built only 2,954, a 38% cut from the previous quarter and its lowest production since early 2025.

The automaker says that’s on purpose. New CEO Silvio Napoli is selling down the unsold cars Lucid piled up in the first half of the year, and Q3 is the first quarter of 2026 in which it delivered more vehicles than it built.

Lucid brings Gravity’s UX to the Air, but older owners must pay $950

Lucid Air owners are finally getting the Gravity’s interface. Lucid started pushing Air UX 3.0 today as part of software version 2.11.0, its biggest Air software overhaul in years.

Owners of 2025 and newer Airs get it for free over the air. But if you bought a 2022, 2023, or some 2024 Air, you’ll first need a $950 infotainment processor upgrade at a Lucid service center.

Apple Car Keys expanding to Lincoln, Lucid, and Freelander

Apple's Car Key feature with a BMW (Image: BMW)

MacRumors‘ Joe Rossignol reports that Apple is preparing to add iPhone Car Key support in the Wallet app to three more automakers: Lincoln, Lucid Motors, and China’s Freelander.

The finding comes from backend code first spotted by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, who posted that Apple’s systems now list the three brands for Car Key support. No launch window or specific models are included in the code.

Car Key lets owners lock, unlock, and start a compatible vehicle with an iPhone or Apple Watch instead of a traditional fob. The latest version of the industry standard, Digital Key 3.0 from the Car Connectivity Consortium, uses Bluetooth LE, NFC, and Ultra Wideband for secure, proximity-based access. Express Mode can work without unlocking the iPhone.

The feature already works with vehicles from Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Cadillac, Lexus, MINI, Polestar, Porsche, RAM, Rivian, Toyota, and others. Availability and exact capabilities still vary by brand and model. Some manufacturers tie the digital key to a connected-services subscription.

Lucid had previously been named by Apple among brands expected to add Car Key support. Lincoln’s addition would bring Ford’s luxury division into the fold. Freelander, a Chinese brand, would further expand the feature in that market. Apple has not confirmed which vehicles will actually ship with the capability or when drivers will be able to add a key to Wallet.
‎
MacDailyNews Take: Backend references of this kind have preceded other Car Key rollouts, but they are not a guarantee of immediate availability. Owners of current Lincoln, Lucid, or Freelander vehicles should not expect the feature until the automakers and Apple formally enable it on supported models.

Lucid (LCID) stock was hit with multiple volatility halts and crashed more than 40% on Tuesday after a report claimed the EV maker was weighing Chapter 11 bankruptcy or going private.
