22 October 2026 at 13:00

Save $300 on the Apple Watch Ultra 3 in this rare blowout deal

20 October 2026 at 18:39

Macworld

Apple Watch Ultra 3

Update: This deal is no longer available.

When you want the best of the best, especially when you’re out on a hike, the Apple Watch Ultra is the way to go. If you want a watch that’s as fashionable as it is functional, you’ll want the Black Titanium Milanese Loop. That usually costs $900, but if you don’t want to spend nearly a thousand bucks on the newest model, you can grab a Series 3 for $600 right now, an impressive 33 percent discount on its MSRP.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 seeks to mix it all together — keeping you connected, keeping track of your training, keeping you on track when you’re hiking, telling you when to go to bed so you get more rest, telling you when you’re having heart issues by running ECGs, and so on. It’s such a versatile thing to have on your wrist that it justifies the high price tag. If you take a hard fall or get in a severe car crash, it can connect you to emergency services and notify your emergency contacts. The battery lasts up to 42 hours of normal use, or up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode, so a weekend trip won’t send you hunting for a charger. With cellular and 5G, you can take calls and stream music without your phone.

This model has the luxurious Black Titanium Milanese Loop band, so it’s stylish too. Crafted from aerospace-grade titanium mesh, it features a secure parachute-style buckle and is inspired by the same design historically used by divers. Apple usually sells this band for $199 on its own, so you’re saving money there, too.

Since this is an Ultra 3, you’ll still get watchOS 27 with the new Siri AI and Dynamic App Grid. Unfortunately, you won’t get the new Readiness app, or Live Rewind and Siri Recap, but otherwise it delivers on everything you could possibly need from a smartwatch. So, grab this gorgeous Apple Watch Ultra 3 for $300 off while it’s still on sale. It’s the best price we’ve ever seen for this model!

One week with Apple Watch Series 12 (and just getting started)

25 September 2026 at 16:00
Three Apple Watches: left shows sous vide chicken advice; center shows health summary with HR 73 and HRV 20; right shows Shazam for ‘Til the Morning’ by Royel Otis on THU SEP 24.

I’ve been using the Apple Watch Series 12 for a week now, but this isn’t a review. The first wave of reviews that dropped at embargo time were all from people who had used the device for about the same amount of time, and it seems a bit silly to just repeat those observations—and a week after all of those stories were published. In addition, the most tantalizing features of the new Apple Watch—Live Rewind and Siri Recap—won’t be available until “late 2026.”1

So instead of sprinting to a quick judgment, I’ve decided to take the long path and live with the Series 12. I migrated from my own Series 10 watch, transferred my cellular plan over, and have committed to wearing it most of the time, including when I sleep. (While I tried out Apple’s sleep features the last time I reviewed an Apple Watch, I decided I didn’t really get enough benefit out of it to keep it going—but since Apple really wants me to wear the watch when I sleep, I will do so, at least for now. That way I can at least try the Vitals app, which runs in daytime mode now.)

Since I’m coming from a Series 10, I’m unfortunately not able to be impressed by how thin the Series 12 is—since the Series 10 was really the watch that got noticeably thinner. (If you’re thinking of upgrading from an older watch than Series 10, though, you’ll love it.) I’m curious to see how the watch face holds up compared to the older model, since the aluminum Series 12 has picked up Ceramic Shield 2 protection.

All summer I complained about just how sluggish the new Siri AI functionality felt in watchOS 27 on my Series 10. Obviously the watch isn’t really capable of full-on Apple Intelligence, but it’s able to phone home to its paired iPhone and relay queries made from that device, and the result is that I can stand in my kitchen and ask what temperature is right for the immersion cooker to cook tonight’s chicken, and get an answer—something that would have required me to go search on my phone before. The results aren’t iPhone fast, but they’re generally fast enough, and have the improved information density that Siri AI offers.

It does feel like Apple tightened up Siri AI responsiveness right at the end of the OS beta cycle, which is especially important when it comes to basic functions that shouldn’t require a laborious trip to an iPhone or cloud servers. Now, when I start a timer, it picks the command up pretty fast. All summer I was frustrated by the seeming inability of my watch or my iPhone to add items to Reminders lists via Siri, but that problem seems to have finally abated, which is important, since that kind of quick data capture is one of my primary Apple Watch use cases. No amount of Siri AI goodness will be worth it if you can’t properly set a timer or add a reminder from your wrist.

While I can’t rewind 15 seconds of recent conversation or check the notes on a meeting that was being monitored by my watch, I was able to use another of Apple’s “Audio Intelligence” features, which is near-instant song identification via Shazam. I suspect this is all about timing. Since this Apple Watch is apparently always buffering audio, when I’m curious about the identity of a song, it’s got the ability to use its buffer and extend the window it needs for analysis. For Shazam, this can often be the difference between success and failure—often, the most recognizable part of a song is what prompts me to want to look it up, and by the time I bring up Shazam, the moment has passed and the song is ending or the conversation in the café has picked up and I end up unsatisfied.

I was watching “Ted Lasso” the other night, and as the music at the very end of the episode began to play, I realized I was curious about the artist. With a very quick flip of the Digital Crown, I exposed the Shazam widget, which had already identified the song and was displaying it for me. There’s a plus icon there that you can use to add that song to your log for later reference.

It’s not going to change my life, but it’s a great little feature. My only real complaint about it is that if Apple’s going to let you use Siri Recap to monitor your life, I’d kind of like the option of turning on a Shazam log for an extended period of time. A few months ago, my wife and I were in a café in Portland, Oregon early on a Sunday morning, and the playlist perfectly fit the mood. I would have loved to have been able to just tell my watch to log all the songs it could identify until we left the café, or for some duration of time.

It’s a start. There’s much more to be done—by me, in terms of using it, and by Apple, in terms of shipping all the features it has promised for this hardware but was unable to deliver by launch.

20 October 2026 at 16:41

20 October 2026 at 15:19

20 October 2026 at 12:00

  1. No Apple Watch, abra os Ajustes (Settings);
  2. Toque em “Central de Controle”;

20 October 2026 at 11:30

  1. Abra o app Watch no iPhone e toque em “Apps”.
  1. Selecione “Oxigênio no Sangue”.
  2. Marque a chave “Em Foco Sono”.

Apple Watch ajuda veterano da Força Aérea dos EUA a descobrir apneia do sono

19 October 2026 at 23:52

David Aladejobi

PSA: watchOS 27 Removes This Useful Feature From Your Apple Watch

17 September 2026 at 09:34
Apple released watchOS 27 on September 14, bringing a new Audio Intelligence feature set to its latest Apple Watch models, but as a result, owners of previous models are set to lose out doubly in the process.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models later this year will get Live Rewind, a feature that provides a transcript of any spoken audio that was picked up by the device in the last 15 seconds. To activate the feature, users need to double-click the Digital Crown.

Unforunately, this double-click action is the same one that in watchOS 26 switches between the current app and the previously used app – or indeed the watch face and the last used app.

It's a neat way of multitasking on your Apple Watch without tapping the display.

Needless to say, this feature will no longer work for anyone upgrading to Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models when the devices are released on September 18. Apple has reserved the double-click action for when its new Live Rewind feature is activated later this year.

However, what's arguably more frustrating is that owners of older Apple Watch models who update to watchOS 27 will also lose the ability to jump between apps using the Digital Crown double-click.

After updating to watchOS 27, the Digital Crown double-click no longer works to switch between apps. All it does is bring up the new dynamic app grid, which is the same behavior that a single click offers. This is despite the fact that the new Live Rewind feature is hardware-bound to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. Owners of previous models are simply out of luck in both senses, losing a useful function while also missing out on the new feature that usurps it.

It also throws up another problem for new Series 12 and Ultra 4 owners: What if people don't want to go near the Live Rewind feature and its privacy implications? Apple could have made the double-click action work to switch between apps as it does in watchOS 26, while also providing an option to assign the action to Live Rewind if that's preferred.

Apple currently doesn't provide options to resolve the situation for either group of users, so all we can do is provide feedback to Apple and hope the company hears enough demand for it to change course in watchOS 27.1 or a later update.

Pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are available now ahead of a Friday, September 18 launch.

Here's Why a New Apple Watch Charging Puck Was Just Released

16 September 2026 at 16:54
The new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 have hardware changes that allow for faster charging, but you will need to use the new version of the Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger included in the box in order to achieve this boost. If you need extra ones for your own charging stands or travel or so forth, Apple released the new version of the charger on its online store last week, with U.S. pricing set at $29.

We have confirmed that the new version of the Apple Watch charging puck — model A3277 — can deliver up to 10W of power to enable the faster charging speeds. The previous version of the charger is limited to 5W. Accordingly, you will also need to use a USB-C Power Delivery charger that is rated 10W or higher for the fastest charging.

With just 15 minutes of charging, Apple said the new charger can add 12 hours of battery life to the Series 12 and 18 hours of battery life to the Ultra 4.

The previous Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 can get 8 hours and 12 hours of battery life respectively with a 15-minute charge, according to Apple. Using the new charging puck will not speed up these times, as the Series 12 and Ultra 4 have hardware changes, so you need both a new watch and the new charger for the fastest charging.

Model New Charger Previous Charger
Apple Watch Series 12 12 hours of battery life in 15 minutes 8 hours of battery life in 15 minutes
Apple Watch Ultra 4 18 hours of battery life in 15 minutes 12 hours of battery life in 15 minutes
Apple Watch Series 11 8 hours of battery life in 15 minutes 8 hours of battery life in 15 minutes
Apple Watch Ultra 3 12 hours of battery life in 15 minutes 12 hours of battery life in 15 minutes

As mentioned, the new 1-meter Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable is available to order for $29 U.S. on Apple's online store.
