Methanoglobus dolicholipophagus AA-75 is a thermophilic archaeon isolated from a Chinese petroleum reservoir that converts methanol into methane, carbon dioxide and acetate, and uses saturated and unsaturated fatty acids to produce methane.

Widespread deoxygenation of freshwater ecosystems regularly reversed by nutrient management

Nature Geoscience, Published online: 26 June 2026; doi:10.1038/s41561-026-02024-y

Dissolved oxygen concentrations increased in rivers and lakes across China between 2005 and 2022 due to nutrient management and despite climate warming-related decreases, according to a study of dissolved oxygen and environmental variables.
